I hear that Anfield Road stand will be extended in 2019, could anywhere else be extended in order to increase the capacity to 65,000?

I think it's only the Annie Road end left which would bring capacity to 59k+. Don't know when it's going to happen though.

This is good news. But honestly speaking the club should have been aiming for 75k as a minimum. I know it may not be feasible with space issues and all that but I feel that should have been the minimum.

The evaluation will be completed by the time the planning app expires and then the decision made. The plan is for a 3 tier the same height as the new main stand and will hold 16,000 which takes us up to 61,000.

That is the max allowed because Anfield is in an area that can't handle more than that. That's the decision of the Council.

Hopefully once that fat Bluenose is out of office they'll change their mind.

To be fair I think there are good reasons for the limit. Anfield as an area can scarcely cope with the 54,000 the stadium now seats.

Yeah you're probably right, just any excuse to have a pop at Anderson.

Great news in my opinion. At the end of the day, improvement is an improvement. To go from 45k to 61k is truly a big step forward.

For the that to happen then there would have to be a rail service to and from the stadium otherwise Liverpool will be utter chaos on match day.

Makes absolute sense that the infastructure would be in place before the stadium. Is it known if the reported 3 tier Annie Road end is a continuation of the new Main Stand, thereby filling in the corners?

Wasn't there talk of the old Walton and Anfield rail station being recommissioned?

No sure but the story is the away fans are getting moved over so they'll be next to the Dalglish, should wake up the Lower Cemetary with some tasty fan banter

Last time I read our stadium had a max increased capacity of 60,000 due to health and safety reasons. For the cost to reach 62,000 it would hold little increased 'value' to FSG's asset (LFC) becase as we all know commercial revenues is where the money is now, not gate receipts.

Increasing the capacity to 60000 means an extra 6000 seats which will be circa 5m pa depending on cup runs etc. Its going to cost at least 80m imo, figures dont stack up, not unless they add corps then we 'could' get 10m pa, which makes more sense.

Do it - use all the additional seats for season tickets. Then I might finally get to the top of that horrible waiting list

If Anfield Road become 3 tier then the ground will be at its limit of 60k,

Do you think the Kenny Dalglish stand could ever be extended over a 15 year long term redevelopment programme for the anfield area, the stand is over 30 years old and probably will need an upgrade by then....

    Any thoughts??

Whether it pleases the traditional supporter or not is really immaterial as financially it is the only way to go. Good corporate facilities will increase greatly the matchday revenue and maybe allow the Club to maintain the cost of stand tickets.

Think we need to prioritise the Kop end before looking at the Kenny stand

Unfortunately that's unrealistic because of the position of the road.
