spurs played very good game against experienced juve, who pull back after the lead.

dembele was awesome once again(yes,he lost some balls, but played everywhere in midfield).hope can played the same way if he stays with us

Spurs played well after the first 10 minutes and plenty of diving also.

Fair play to Spurs coming back from 2-0 down against Juve.

That was really very impressive, especially coming off the back of 3 really tough league games. They're some fit lads...with no little quality.

Doubt spurs would sell to us plus isn’t he like 30 odd? I agree though he would be immense at us. Him and Naby would be a joke. Anyone know of a player similar to Dembele anywhere in the world? He was gliding past Khedira and Pjanic like he was playing against Port Vale.

**** spurs hate them. Higuain missing that pen on the edge of half time was key.

Yeah they have a different tactic to us. Where as we would look like we have run out of steam after 50 mins, Spurs gain more steam after 50 mins.

Their game management seems better than ours.

This a point which hasn't been made and is very important.

To play United, Us, Arsenal and Juventus and come away undefeated plus 2 away European goals is very impressive indeed and to be the better side in all four games.

Spurs are no doubt a very good side and they are set up very well by Poch.

    Would love their midfield.

Agreed. Hope he goes to Madrid soon and takes Kane with him.

Their results this season vs Real, Dortmund and now Juve - they've really come of age in Europe this season and have to be considered a serious threat. They're now becoming one of the teams you'd rather avoid - which, tbf, could be said of most of the last 16, but Spurs have definitely gone up a notch.

However, not to sound too down on Liverpool by praising Spuds.

Despite our so called poor midfield we are top 3 in Premier league and about to embark on our first Champions League knock out stage for 8 years. Not too shabby.

This is the "other games" thread, we are allowed to talk about other teams. I can big up the Pool in plenty of other threads!

Absolutely. They're a very good side... and we're above them in the league.

I think this seasons CL is highlighting the depth in quality at the top of the Prem - 5 teams in the last 16 with no other league providing more than 2, and I'm expecting at least 3 or 4 to go further.

Perhaps only City are among the current favourites, but really any one of the English sides could win it. None of us is just making up the numbers.

Indeed, but Poch hasn't won anything. You can have a great side, but you got to take it to the final at some point. Maybe this season they will. In the FA CUP.

They will have to get past the mighty Rochdale first. A step up from Newport.

Did anyone watch Cardiff last night? Apparently Grujic won 15 out of 15 aerial duels but had a 60% passing accuracy from 45 passes.

This is Poch's 4th season there:
First season he marginally improved them in the league from 6th to 5th, albeit with less points than the previous season
Second season he improved significantly to finish 3rd despite a late collapse
Third season improved again to finish second with 86 points, failed on their CL return though
Fourth season - I think if they finish top 4 again, which I think they will, combined with their improved CL showing, I think they could call this season another step forward.

That would be 4 consecutive seasons of progress, which would have to be considered as pretty outstanding...and yet still potentially nothing tangible to show for it.

As you say, he really needs to move onto the next step now - the last step. Or his legacy will be...?

I've actually thought for a long time he's rather unique as a player. I remember thinking that back when he was Fulham even. His dribbling style is very different to almost any other player I've seen, and his ability to glide past players and keep the ball under pressure using his immense strength and close control is remarkable. I certainly can't think of another player quite like him.

    ...really made at Real Madrid?

I think anyone who downplays his obvious quality as a manager is either deluding themselves or just a Ron type (or are they both the same thing?). He is an excellent manager and Spurs have been an excellent side for a while now. They outplayed Juve for most of the game last night and quite frankly it looked like Juve didn't know what had hit them. I heard Juve had only conceded 1 goal in over 24hrs of football coming into this game, yet their defence really struggled to cope with Spurs' attacks, and the midfield was absolute ran by Dembele and Eriksen. The only area Spurs looked vulnerable was at FB (both giving away pens), which is kind of ironic as they had 2 of the best in the league last season. I think they could be a real dark horse, would certainly not want to get them in the later stages and I doubt anyone else would either.
