How far does that go though? What if England and Germany were at war again? Or England and Spain? How many teams can you separate? And how bad does it have to be?

I thought FIFA/UEFA's whole thing was keeping politics out of football?

Unfortunately, that's not the Russians' or Ukrainians' thing.

I think FIFA/UEFA should be doing things like that tbh, keeping the peace an all. Football’s all good and stuff but if it’s gonna cause issues ‘in real life’ I think the authorities should play it smart.

If England/Spain/Germany were at War, Football would be the last thing on our minds

So force the game to be played on neutral ground, and behind closed doors, if necessary. I don't see why they need to rig the draw.

I agree, can’t believe they do that actually, I never knew.

You won't get a disagreement from me. I'd be all over that like a fat kid on a smartie.

Make a good go of it, problem is he doesn't have the tactics of ideas needed, and lets face he agreed to take on the job, he proved here in Europe anyway that he wasn't good enough, had the money and players.

Not too sure what people are expecting? They were significant underdogs vs Zenit, as they are almost every time they play in Europe. So he didn't buck huge odds? Wow.
Well it looks like Celtic have picked the perfect manger to meet their low aspirations in Europe.

That was his first season in Europe, as a young manager. We didn't put up much of a show - but at least he got us back into it.

At Celtic, with the resources he has, and with Celtics recent history in Europe, he's doing alright.

Last season was their first in the group stage for a little while, and this season playing European football after Christmas is genuine progress.

Dunno why people want to beat up on him? I wouldn't argue against the suggestion that the Liverpool job was probably too big for him at the time, but he's a young British manager trying to re-establish himself, and doing an ok job - why look to put the boot in?

As long as BR wins the league every year, Celtic fans should have no complaints.
