    Hi All,

Matt your new Community Manager here.

We have a lot of stickies on the Football thread at present. Stickies are useful for keeping topics in view but too many reduces the space for debate threads. There's also some argument as to how effective they are. I know when I'm reading a forum I often find myself skipping over the stickies to get to the current debates.

To try and get round this I'm starting a 'Guide thread' on the boards. These threads will contain links to all the existing stickied topics so you can easily find them. One Guide thread can replace 6 or 7 stickies and free up more space for the days topics.

The Guide threads will remain open for you to suggest other topics which you'd like to have mentioned here. If there's a classic thread or article posted for instance it could be linked to here.

    Matt

The post is open for people to make suggestions, for example on a new topic to be included in the guide. Once that happens the original post will be deleted. The idea is to keep this to one post which contains the info most useful to the user.

    Matt,

What about including one of the generic "How do I get to the stadium" threads. They seem to appear about once a month.

That's a good shout. Probably best to have that in a Football Forum FAQ thread, where all the frequently asked questions could go in one topic, saves people having to answer the same one twice.

Yeah they'll just have to post the link to the topic instead

Seriously people keep asking how to get to Anfield, or how to get tickets, when the homepage has links to both how to get to Anfield, and how to apply for tickets. They navigation to them and title of the links, could not even be more clear.

Even if the homepage doesn't have the information, they are on the Internet can they not do their own research. I'm at this hotel, how far is it from the ground, tell me the hotel to stay in but I won't tell you my budget or willing to travel distance, I'm arriving at the airport ten minutes before kick off do you think I'll make the game in time, or please help I'm leaving in five minutes and need to know where to park my car as I've not done anything in the last two/three weeks to find out.

I still think that would be an improvement though?

That's the nature of people though. There will be some who won't think to look, or who simply prefer the process of asking in the community to researching it for themselves.

Besides, at times we're all the stranger or tourist somewhere, the person asking what may be to others a daft question. That's the same on the internet as it is in the real world. We can wish it was otherwise, do as much as we can to pre-empt any questions and give people the chance to find out for themselves but ultimately these questions will recurr.

The advantage of having one thread with all the answers is that it might prevent an additional set of questions, or simply provide a useful space to move the thread to.

I like the idea of an introduction to Anfield thread, with links to the relevant info on the site and also where regulars can post all the info they wish they'd known before they first went. There will always be people going for the first time, rather than complaining about 'whoppers on the Kop' what could we usefully tell them to make everyones experience more enjoyable?

So in addition to where you park your car something about the Kop clapping the oppo keeper, that sort of thing...

The forum software has hundreds of options re statistics Paraant, I've had a quick look and couldn't find one for current logins, although I'm sure it's there somewhere. There were 8970 separate users logged in throughout yesterday, though this includes both the e-season and free to use boards.

I'll have a closer look at the stats later on and see if I can get you a better answer.

When we win, low number of log ins.

When we don't win, high number

I don't seem to be able to edit my "ignore" list. Has this feature been disabled or is it just a problem with my account?

I have the newest version of Mozilla Firefox but can't get the picture when logging on to lfc tv.

The audio is working just fine, but there are no picture.

Does anyone have any knowledge of how to fix this?

    Your answers are appreciated

I've had that. but now it just tends to stop responding and have to close. So I just open up in Internet Explorer if I plan to watch or listen to audio/video and it works fine. Don't know if that helps you at all?

Unfortunately that's not always possible. Otherwise the board would be covered in redirects. If you think your thread's been moved or merged just check your profile and look at your last posts, that will show you where your thread is.

Matt could we have the feature back that tells us who sent the positive rep.

I understand why it was removed from negative rep but can't really understand why it can't be used on positive. don't have to be the comment thing but simply tell you who sent it.

I don't think we've ever had this have we lfc? I remember we had comments but had to rely on somebody identifying themselves I think.

Had a search around and couldn't find any info so figured I'd ask here, save wasting space with another thread.

Right, I've only ever bought a single ticket for myself before so I want to ask, if I want to buy 2 tickets via postal/phone/any of the general sale methods, do I need a membership number for every person?

It seems that with the est ballot, I don't, but with general, I do. There's no clear info on the website though, I just assumed this from the postal app form. Reason I ask is because I want to try for tickets for the Villa game, but only I have membership, my friend doesn't.

    Cheers!

Just checked and yes you need a membership number for each ticket.

Bils - it tells you what rep you have received, but not from WHO, as far as I can tell. Or maybe I'm being dense (It's happened to me before you know )

HAFA it is. There are some other shockers but I cannot think of them off hand. NEW-CASH-TELL springs to mind though. Who? Knee? is Rooney of course too!

I was thinking the same thing about Stevie. I could imagine Lucas saying on his first day:
"Hey Gay-hard, in Brasil they like you a lot".
    SMACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
"Ow, what is his problem Kah-Hah-Gah"?
